CloseTogether, designed by Ingrimayne Type, builds itself around a clever alternation between outward-curving and inward-curving letterforms. Every uppercase letter swells outward, every lowercase letter curves inward, and the OpenType contextual alternate feature orchestrates this swap automatically as you type. The result feels engineered rather than decorative, each letterform shaped expressly to fit against the next without excess spacing.

The unusual geometry serves a deliberate structural purpose. Each contour is carved to nestle snugly against its neighbor, eliminating wasted air and creating an optical compression that reads as tightly integrated letterforms. Three weights (regular, bold, and extrabold) give you considerable tonal range without stepping away from the core concept. The default letter spacing runs quite tight, which you can loosen upward if your layout requires breathing room, though tightness is genuinely where this typeface shines most.

Beyond the automatic alternation system, you get four OpenType stylistic sets offering substitution options for numbers and three specific letters (D, T, Y) when you want additional personality in your wordmarks. This structural approach makes CloseTogether well suited for album covers, luxury cosmetics packaging, music festival posters, and book cover treatments where typography becomes the central visual idea.
