Behrens Schrift captures the bold, angular geometry of Gothic script as reimagined in 1902 by Peter Behrens, an architect and designer whose approach fundamentally shaped early twentieth-century design. Ingo Zimmermann has carefully digitized the original typeface, keeping intact the deliberate stroke angles and substantial weight that made it official typography for world expositions in 1904 and 1910.

The typeface carries its historical weight without feeling static. Its heavy verticals and measured curves work beautifully for medieval-themed wedding invitations, ornate certificate designs, and period-accurate book covers that need genuine presence and authenticity. The matching ornaments, original to Behrens' design, add decorative possibility for label design, graphic novel covers, and any project that needs classical visual authority. The long s variant handles typography automatically, placing the round s at word endings according to proper Fraktur rules so you can focus on composition instead of remembering historical conventions.

It's built for designers working on historically-grounded projects, traditional branding, or any piece where letterforms should carry authority and intention. You'll find Behrens Schrift on Creative Fabrica, ready to bring that early-twentieth-century character to your work.
