This chunky slab serif carries a gritty, mid-century edge that commands attention instantly. Waiting Friends, designed by Damai of 7NTypes, is a display typeface built entirely from thick strokes and distressed detail that screams vintage authenticity. It's raw, it's bold, and it doesn't apologize for looking several decades old.

The blocky letterforms carry real visual weight and unmistakable character. You'll feel the retro impact immediately in the scratched texture and solid proportions, which make them ideal for vintage concert posters, retro diner menu design, craft brewery label layouts, and antique-market product packaging. The font handles hand-painted marquee-style signage beautifully, printable merchandise graphics with genuine grit, and retro book cover layouts where personality always trumps polish. It's the typeface that looks like someone pulled it straight from a dusty 1970s printing shop and decided it was far too good to ever retire.

When you're ready to put this to work, pair it with a clean, contemporary sans-serif for body text and smaller sizes to create breathing room and visual contrast. Let it run the display show if your project demands wall-to-wall vintage character and presence. Grab Waiting Friends on Creative Fabrica and add that unpolished, time-worn authenticity to your next design project.
