1 / 5About Uptown Deco Font
The October 4, 1929 edition of Film Daily carried an ad for Universal Pictures for their “complete service contract in sound”, as the transition from silent to talking pictures was well under way.
Much of the ad copy was hand lettered in an early “thick-and-thin” Art Deco type design with an interesting mix of added curved and angular ‘serif embellishments’ to an otherwise sans-serif alphabet.
This has be redrawn digitally as Uptown Deco JNL, and is available in both regular and oblique versions.
