There's something genuinely bold and theatrical about Square. Created by designer Vladimir Nikolić, this slab-serif Gothic typeface merges weighted drama with refined elegance, delivering a distinctive presence that commands attention without sacrificing sophistication. The sturdy serifs give it an architectural quality that translates beautifully across formal applications: wedding invitation suites that demand gravitas, vintage-inspired postcard designs that feel timeless, boutique stationery sets for high-end brands, and custom signage for antique shops or specialty retailers. The font reads clearly at virtually any scale, from commanding display applications down to headers and opening lines in longer layouts. That legibility paired with its decorative weight makes it an uncommonly versatile choice for such a bold and dramatic typeface.

When pairing with complementary fonts, consider setting body text in a lighter serif or a warm, neutral sans-serif that won't compete with Square's strong architectural presence. This layered approach lets the Gothic character serve as the visual anchor for your composition while keeping the overall page accessible and visually intentional. The contrast between Square's commanding weight and a delicate secondary typeface creates hierarchy that feels genuinely considered rather than accidental.
