You're laying out a children's picture book and need a typeface that reads as genuinely handmade without losing legibility. Sprout Eggs, designed by Letterayu, is a slab serif that nails this balance perfectly. Its bold, rounded serifs and quirky letterforms have that slightly wobbly, off-kilter character that feels playful and approachable rather than artificially cute or saccharine.

This typeface excels when you're creating custom planner pages and journal covers, designing kids' birthday party invitations, developing nursery wall signage, or lettering greeting cards and announcements for young audiences. The thick, sturdy strokes give it real presence at both large and small sizes, while the slightly uneven edges prevent it from feeling slick or corporate in the way so many geometric sans-serifs do. That handwritten quality makes it ideal for DIY craft labels, picture book titles, storybook cover designs, and thank you cards where authentic personality matters far more than polish.

Sprout Eggs holds its distinctive character and readability whether you're displaying it large or small, making it unusually flexible and reliable across different project types. Find it on Creative Fabrica and start using it to bring authentic personality to your next children's design.
