Short Films has a distinctive personality that manages to feel both retro and contemporary, drawing from Art Deco geometry while resisting the urge to become purely decorative. Dharma Type created this typeface with a specific philosophy: that decorative faces should work hard, not just look good.

The technical foundation is solid and thoughtful. Soft, open counters and rounded forms give it genuine warmth, while the interplay between thin and thick strokes creates visual rhythm without feeling chaotic or overwrought. It shines in vintage-style poster campaigns, luxury packaging design, and high-end brand identity work where clients expect both character and legibility. Uncommon for a display face, it actually works effectively in headlines and substantial body text alike, making it genuinely versatile.

Six weights with matching italics give you real flexibility for building cohesive typographic systems. The font covers extensive Latin and Cyrillic language support, so international projects won't run into missing characters. Pair it with a clean, minimalist sans-serif like Inter or Source Sans Pro for body copy, and you have a complete typographic toolkit that spans print and digital applications. Creative Fabrica has it ready to download whenever your next project needs this blend of retro charm and contemporary function.
