There's something quietly commanding about a slab-serif that doesn't whisper. Shemekia Regular, designed by Area Type, is built on that rare combination of geometric restraint and warmth that makes people stop and look twice.

With 18 complete styles spanning light to black weights, plus matching italics, Shemekia punches well beyond typical display work. You'll find it earning real weight in luxury fashion lookbooks, where the bold cuts demand attention without screaming. It works beautifully for high-end restaurant identity systems, craft brewery labels that aim for premium positioning, and editorial headers in design-forward magazines. The geometric precision keeps it feeling contemporary, while the slab structure grounds everything with confidence and personality that pure moderns simply can't match. A subtle humanist quality runs through the letterforms, something you notice when you use it across body copy or smaller sizes, but that weight and presence make it ideal for logos and display work too.

Pair it with a light geometric sans (think Futura or something similar) for body text or UI callouts, and you've got a system that feels cohesive without sacrificing hierarchy. Pick it up on Creative Fabrica when you're ready to strengthen your toolkit.
