The rounded, chunky letterforms of New Year, designed by Letterayu, turn a straightforward slab serif into something genuinely playful and inviting. Each character has soft, organic terminals and a blocky build that reads as warm rather than severe, giving the whole typeface an almost candy-like quality without tipping into cartoonish exaggeration. There's a handmade feel here, even though the letterforms are clean and consistent.

This font works brilliantly for projects aimed at kids and families. Birthday party invitations get an instant dose of personality when set in New Year, as do illustrated children's books and picture text overlays. Craft supply labels benefit from its approachable warmth, and it shines as headlines in DIY scrapbook layouts. The typeface is equally convincing on sticker sheets designed for Etsy, in planner pages meant to encourage young writers, or as the main text in printable activity sheets that need to feel fun rather than clinical.

The slightly rounded edges and consistent weight make every word feel friendly and encouraging. New Year works best for any project where you want the audience to feel welcomed rather than impressed, from children's charity branding to homemade game boxes. Find it on Creative Fabrica to bring some genuine warmth to your next handmade or printed design.
