You're designing menus for an upscale restaurant, and you need a typeface that announces quality without sounding stuffy. Kaayla, designed by creativetacos, is a slab serif that nails this balance. Its chunky serifs and geometric proportions give it the kind of presence that works beautifully across restaurant branding, packaging, and editorial layouts, while remaining readable and distinctive even at smaller sizes.

Slab serifs like Kaayla have specific strengths in certain projects. Food packaging and restaurant menu design benefit hugely from its confident, slightly retro aesthetic. Luxury skincare labels and boutique product branding look polished when Kaayla handles the headlines. Magazine section headers and editorial mastheads use slab serifs to command visual hierarchy. Event posters and upscale gathering announcements also benefit from this weight and presence. The family offers four weights, letting you shift from headline boldness down to supporting text without swapping typefaces entirely.

The real advantage here is that Kaayla's heavier weights don't sacrifice legibility for impact. You get genuine density without that blocky, hard-to-read feeling some thick serifs develop. At display sizes especially, each weight earns its place. Grab Kaayla on Creative Fabrica and start using it for work that needs real visual weight and personality.
