Joliesse, designed by Gatype, captures the bold, fluid energy of 1970s brush lettering through its thick, expressive strokes and playful curves. The letterforms carry that hand-drawn warmth that makes scripts feel authentic rather than sterile, drawing inspiration from vintage neon signs and weathered hand-painted storefront facades that defined a generation of visual culture. There's a looseness to the letterforms, a willingness to break grid and structure that reads as genuinely friendly.

This typeface performs best on vintage restaurant menus and wine labels where you want guests to feel the history in the design. Retro product packaging and throwback poster designs benefit equally, nostalgia becoming the anchor of the brand story. It handles craft beer labels, vintage-inspired wedding invitations, and boutique branding with equal grace, each project gaining that personal, lived-in quality that customers instinctively trust. The combination of bold weight and fluid letterforms keeps every application readable while layering in unmistakable personality.

Joliesse suits designers and small business owners hunting for that handcrafted, retro aesthetic without the friction of hand-lettering everything from scratch. Find it on Creative Fabrica and bring this nostalgic voice into your next project.
