Imagine an art director laying out a magazine spread and reaching for a typeface that commands a room without shouting. Hugells by Arterfak Project is that slab serif, and it arrives as a seven-weight family built for editorial layouts, brand campaigns, and premium packaging work that genuinely demands visual weight.

This typeface shines in high-end skincare packaging, independent music and lifestyle magazine covers, event poster campaigns, and the boldface logos that need to feel authoritative without becoming cold or severe. Its serifs are heavy but balanced, giving the typeface a contemporary quality that never drifts into the awkwardness that plagues so many slab serif display fonts. You get genuine versatility across seven weights, so you can dial the intensity up or down depending on how much visual presence a layout needs. Large headlines stay crisp and commanding. Smaller text stays perfectly readable without losing its fundamental character.

Hugells performs just as well in digital interfaces as it does in print, with clean geometry that avoids unnecessary ornamentation or nostalgia-driven details. There's no artificial flourish here, only solid letterforms engineered to anchor your design hierarchy and give weight to your concepts. Grab Hugells on Creative Fabrica and bring a typeface with real backbone into your working library.
