Codename Fx, designed by Differentialtype, is a slab serif built on bold geometry and strong contrast. The typeface combines retro character with contemporary sharpness, creating an angular, forward-looking presence that reads as distinctly vintage and decidedly modern. Thick, blocky serifs anchor each letter while clean strokes maintain legibility, even at smaller sizes.

Nine weights, matching italics, and outline variations give you real flexibility across different design contexts and visual hierarchies. That depth of options proves especially valuable for logos requiring both immediate impact and sophisticated restraint. This typeface shines for vintage record label designs, high-end spirits branding, boutique cosmetics packaging, and gallery identity systems where you need multiple weights to guide hierarchy and eye movement. Book covers and editorial headers also benefit from its distinctive voice without sacrificing clarity at multiple scales. At display sizes, the slab serif geometry becomes a graphic element with its own stopping power.

Codename Fx suits designers and art directors building cohesive visual systems with personality and depth. For branding collateral work, type-heavy editorial layouts, and packaging designed to command shelf presence, this family delivers both substance and genuine character.
