You're designing the packaging for a friend's handmade candle line, and you want lettering that feels crafted rather than corporate. Buttercake, created by ArtLine Design, is a loose, flowing script that captures exactly this handmade aesthetic. The letterforms move with natural energy across greeting card suites, small-batch product labels, handmade brand identities, and independent shop packaging where authenticity signals quality over slick polish.

What makes Buttercake work across so many applications is how its open letterforms perform at multiple scales, from large display sizes down to running text. The natural weight variations keep things from looking too rigid, maintaining the feeling that you sat down with a brush and letter by letter built something real. You'll find it performs equally well for holiday branding, wedding invitation suites, everyday DIY craft signage, and custom Etsy storefront labels where the personal touch is the whole point. Hand-lettered social graphics for a small business, printed invitations, or handmade brand identity all retain clarity at every size while staying warm and approachable.

The playful baseline adds movement without sacrificing legibility at larger display sizes. Its flexibility across both rough and polished applications makes it useful for anyone building brand identity with a human hand at the center. Grab Buttercake on Creative Fabrica to bring this authentic character to your projects.
