Baxter's Slab by Chequered Ink is a robust slab-serif typeface where thick, geometric serifs sit square and assured at the end of every stroke. The letterforms carry equal presence whether they're handling contemporary typography or retro-inspired design work, striking a deliberate balance between versatility and genuine personality that refuses to pretend it works for everything.

This typeface excels on packaging for artisanal food brands, vintage-inspired band posters that actually stop traffic, and editorial headlines that demand real visual presence on the page. You'll find it particularly strong for coffee shop menu boards with genuine staying power, craft brewery labels designed to catch the eye on retail shelves, and book covers where the typography needs to feel intentional rather than generic or ordinary. The blocky weight and generous letterforms give any layout a handmade, considered quality that reads deliberate and substantial without feeling dated or forced.

Baxter's Slab works best with designers tackling mid-century revival identity projects, vintage lifestyle branding, or anyone who needs a display face that balances strong character with genuine legibility across various sizes. Find it on Creative Fabrica, where it joins a growing collection of typefaces designed for real design work beyond the usual defaults.
