Banana Yeti is a brush script with a distinctively condensed lean that draws its character from a 1947 Speedball textbook sample originally hand-drawn by calligrapher Ross Frederic George. Zetafonts has taken this vintage foundation and expanded it significantly, creating a typeface that captures that characteristic handmade energy without sacrificing versatility.

The font excels in projects that lean into retro aesthetics. Art deco-style food packaging, vintage brand logos, handwritten-feel menu cards, and mid-century advertising layouts all benefit from Banana Yeti's period-authentic brush quality. The letterforms have enough personality to stand out in social media graphics while remaining readable in print applications. Where many script fonts feel overwrought, this one balances confidence with restraint.

To handle real-world design work, Banana Yeti comes in four weights plus a dedicated monoline version, all with extensive OpenType features. You get ligatures, alternate characters, swashes that can be triggered via underscore keystrokes, and support for over 40 languages using the Latin alphabet. The result is a typeface that looks hand-drawn but works like a professional tool. It's ideal for designers creating vintage-inspired brands, craft businesses wanting personality, and anyone building a cohesive retro aesthetic across packaging and collateral.
