You're sketching out a retro wine label or designing signage for a new cocktail bar, and you want lettering that actually looks handwritten, not digital. Advertising Script from Zetafonts delivers that brushed, 1940s aesthetic in a typeface based on Ross Frederic George's original calligraphic design from the Speedball 1947 manual. The character is authentic without being fussy, making it ideal for designs that need real vintage charm.

This script works well for vintage wine labels, craft spirit packaging, speakeasy and nightclub menus, and retro cosmetics branding. It has that nostalgic brush script feel without the awkwardness that actual handwriting introduces into a logo system. The OpenType features are what set it apart. You get full control over swashes and ligatures that make each word feel custom-drawn, and there's a convenient underline trick where typing one to six underscores after a letter cycles through alternate characters directly as you type, no palette hunting required.

One practical note: this typeface relies on OpenType features, which work smoothly in Adobe Suite and most modern design software, but not all applications support them. Always test compatibility with your specific tool before downloading. With those swashes and alternates ready to go, Advertising Script is available on Creative Fabrica.
