Picture a vintage-inspired children's book cover or a set of retro birthday party invitations spread out on a desk. This is exactly what Gending, created by Minimalist Eyes, was built for. The clean sans-serif carries that nostalgic '70s and '80s charm without feeling overwrought or clunky. Balanced proportions give it room to breathe in large display settings, making it shine on everything from hand-lettered album cover art to cartoon-style food packaging labels. It handles playful scrapbook layouts with ease and reads beautifully on quirky greeting cards where you want personality without visual noise.

The full character set includes numbers and punctuation marks, so you're covered whether you're setting headlines or working with longer passages. Lowercase letters hit that sweet spot between casual and readable, which matters when you're designing anything that kids might pick up and actually read. Retro branding projects benefit from this font's genuine vintage appeal, since it speaks to classic nostalgia without looking stuck in time. The letterforms work across contemporary design too, which means you can use Gending for everything from modern packaging to nostalgic posters and playful display work.
