The blocky, geometric serifs on SCM Galaxie XII recall the mechanical punch of typewriter keys, blending that satisfying industrial character with the substantial weight of a proper slab serif. Created by astevanov, this typeface brings typewriter nostalgia without sacrificing readability or impact, making it work across many contexts where other nostalgic fonts would feel forced or out of place.

That typewriter heritage runs through the proportions and rhythm of the design, and the substantial serifs give each letter genuine visual weight without becoming oversize or clunky. Every character has a deliberate, crafted quality that feels both personal and quietly professional. You'll find it perfect for vintage band merchandise and album artwork needing contemporary polish, minimalist product packaging for artisan skincare and specialty food brands, editorial layouts in independent print publications and zines, and retro event posters with personality. Its mechanical uniformity comes through even at large scales, keeping headlines legible and impactful without sacrificing that vintage-inspired character.

This is the font for designers building brands with genuine character, working somewhere between vintage inspiration and modern sensibility. Find SCM Galaxie XII on Creative Fabrica.
