Medan's sturdy geometric forms and generous proportions give slab serifs a friendly, approachable feel that reads equally well across digital and print mediums. Created by afkaristudio, this typeface brings warmth to layouts that might otherwise demand rigid formality. The thick, confident letterforms sit in that sweet spot between authoritative and inviting, making it work hard without trying to impress.

The blocky letterforms make Medan particularly effective for applications where clarity and personality must coexist. Craft product labels and artisanal packaging come alive with this typeface when authenticity matters most. Indie magazine covers, fanzine mastheads, and cafe menu designs all benefit from its confident, grounded character. Social media graphics and product branding gain real presence when set in Medan. It also anchors editorial layouts well, especially when paired with a supporting sans-serif body copy that needs visual weight to balance against.

What makes Medan stand apart is its genuine versatility across contexts. It's substantial enough for strong display use, yet readable enough for body text set in measured blocks, with enough personality to define a complete brand identity without overwhelming supporting design elements. Independent brands, small publishers, and designers building boutique identities will find this typeface does real work. Find Medan on Creative Fabrica and make it part of your type library.
