You're designing a vintage apothecary label or speakeasy menu, and you need letterforms that actually feel hand-drawn. Mr Rafkin Pro by Sudtipos pulls from one of the strangest moments in American type design: the 1930s through World War II, when New York alone had about 200 professional hand letterers creating scripts by hand.

The construction method is what makes this font interesting. Bluemlein didn't draw these alphabets from scratch. Instead, he collected handwritten signatures from various sources, assembled complete alphabets from bits and pieces of them, and ended up with scripts that looked nothing like the original source material they came from. He assigned each one a fictional name, a detail Sudtipos carefully preserved when reviving the designs for digital use. You'll find Mr Rafkin Pro works especially well for heritage brand identities, artisan product packaging, vintage-inspired wedding invitations, or retro signage for restaurants and bars. The letterforms stay true to their handmade origins while remaining readable at large display sizes.

This script has genuine character without feeling forced or precious. It's the typeface that tells a story about craft, history, and the hand letterers of a bygone era. Find it on Creative Fabrica and bring that authentic sensibility to your next design.
