You're designing a craft beer label, and you need a typeface that looks handmade but works at any scale without losing its edge. That's Drogheda, a reverse-contrast slab serif created by Fontdation. The typeface flips the typical serif weight logic (heavy strokes on horizontals, thin on verticals) and creates something visually punchy and distinctly modern.

What makes Drogheda work is its built-in flexibility. The strong letterforms carry real personality without ever feeling overstuffed, so it handles bottle packaging, vinyl record sleeves, podcast cover artwork, and the kind of hipster brand identity work that demands a distinctive voice. Designers reach for it in these applications because it reads as intentional, never generic. The reverse-contrast structure gives it contemporary edge while holding onto that vintage appeal that makes retro-style branding feel fresh rather than nostalgic for its own sake.

The typeface comes in both OTF and TTF formats, so you're covered for screen and print alike. Drogheda performs beautifully at large headline sizes, but stays legible in tighter applications too. Grab it on Creative Fabrica and start building brands that actually stick with people.
