This bold slab serif has the swagger of a 1970s poster: confident, unapologetically chunky, and impossibly chic. Crabs, designed by ardyanatypes, channels that vintage era when fat letterforms did the heavy lifting in a design, no filler needed.

The font's thick serifs and substantial letter widths make it ideal for wedding invitation suites where you want genuine typographic drama, vintage-inspired packaging for small-batch cosmetics or artisanal food lines, bold magazine mastheads and feature headlines that command immediate attention, and retro band logos alongside music venue signage. You get multilingual character support baked in, so international projects don't require workarounds or hunting for substitute typefaces.

What makes Crabs work is how it occupies space with genuine personality. It reads as both minimal and maximalist at once: clean, stripped-back letterforms paired with serious visual weight that announces itself the moment you see it. That balance is surprisingly hard to find. Pair Crabs with something quiet (a narrow geometric sans-serif or humanist sans for body copy) and watch how the contrast between the two does all the compositional work. You'll find it on Creative Fabrica, a solid choice for projects that need that nostalgic 70s punch and don't apologize for taking up room on the page.
