Barato is a handwritten script font designed by Edson Silva. The typeface brings an informal, personal touch to any project that needs authentic character, with its 75 glyphs providing practical coverage for everyday typography needs. Unlike rigid geometric scripts, Barato captures the nuanced rhythm of casual handwriting, making it ideal for designs where genuine personality drives the message rather than polish or sophistication.

This script font works particularly well for greeting cards, wedding invitation suites, product labels for small businesses, and social media graphics where warmth and personality matter more than formal structure. Its casual letterforms also suit scrapbooking layouts, vinyl decals for craft projects, and hand-lettered poster designs that benefit from a genuinely sketched aesthetic rather than polished perfection. The script performs especially well in branding applications for artisan businesses, indie labels, and creative studios seeking a human-made quality without over-designing.

Free for personal and commercial use, Barato can be applied across client projects, published designs, and commercial products without licensing restrictions. Choose this font when you want designs to feel personal and handmade rather than sleek or neutral, and when you need authentic handwritten quality that maintains legibility across different sizes and applications.
